Interior remodeling
Transform your bathroom, transform your home.
From a targeted bathroom renovation to a full-room remodel, NK can bring together design and planning, layout, fixtures, tile, showers, storage, lighting, and finishes for Philadelphia homes.
Bathroom remodeling options
Bathroom remodeling can range from a targeted fixture or shower update to a complete room renovation. The right scope depends on the room you have, how you use it, and how far you want to take the renovation.
Replace an existing tub with a walk-in shower and consider the shower configuration, tile, glass enclosure, fixtures, and surrounding finish work together.
A complete remodel can combine demolition, tile, vanity, lighting, fixtures, storage, layout, and coordinated finishes in one room scope.
Compact bathrooms can be planned around a space-saving shower, vanity selection, storage, door or layout choices, and brighter finishes.
A larger primary-bathroom project can include a custom shower, dual vanities, a freestanding or built-in tub, upgraded fixtures, and coordinated finishes.
Backlit mirrors, floating vanities, body jets, smart toilets, and premium fixtures and finishes are options to consider when they fit the project.
Bathroom design and planning
Bathroom planning starts with how the room is used today and what needs to change. Layout, shower or tub configuration, vanity placement, storage, fixtures, tile, surfaces, lighting, and finish coordination all shape the conversation. NK can use 3D design planning to help clients visualize the project before construction.
A revised layout can also affect circulation, usable space, and the existing plumbing or electrical arrangement. This matters in both compact bathrooms and larger primary-bathroom projects, where planning the room as a whole connects daily function with the finished appearance.
How a bathroom remodel comes together
Bathroom renovation brings together consultation and design, reconstruction, fixture replacement, tile work, and finishing. The sequence below keeps those connected phases clear without promising a fixed timetable for every room.
Review the existing bathroom, the changes under consideration, and the priorities for layout, fixtures, finishes, and daily use.
Develop the room direction through material, fixture, tile, vanity, lighting, and accessory choices.
Remove existing elements and prepare the room for the selected renovation scope.
A layout or fixture change can involve updates to the existing plumbing or electrical arrangement before finishes are installed.
Install the selected tub or shower, toilet, vanity, lighting, faucets, mirrors, and other accessories.
Complete the selected floor, wall, shower, countertop, and enclosure details.
Bring together trim, molding, paint, and the final room details around the completed fixtures and surfaces.
Project types and scope details
These examples use distinct room sizes and scopes rather than one universal bathroom-remodeling package. They place duration and the main cost components in context.
A complete remodel that can include a tub, vanity, lighting, fixtures, tile, and paint.
Typical duration: 10–11 working days, subject to the bathroom's unique aspects.
A full bathroom update centered on a custom walk-in shower, tile, glass enclosure, and updated fixtures.
Typical duration: 12–14 working days, subject to the bathroom's unique aspects.
A larger remodel that can include a walk-in shower, double vanity, tile, a tub choice, and optional heated features.
Typical duration: 17–18 working days, subject to the bathroom's unique aspects.
Bathroom remodeling costs
The three project examples above show how room size, project scope, materials, fixtures, plumbing or electrical changes, permits where applicable, and existing conditions can affect cost. They also separate permit and inspection costs where required, along with potential unforeseen conditions.
A larger room or a more extensive demolition and reconstruction scope can require more material and labor.
Fixture quality, tile and surface selections, vanity or cabinetry choices, and specialty features all influence the project scope.
A walk-in shower, tub conversion, custom shower work, or a layout change can change the materials and work involved.
Changes to existing plumbing or electrical setups are cost factors when they are part of the selected layout.
The project examples account separately for potential hidden conditions in an existing bathroom, alongside permits and inspections where applicable.
Philadelphia bathroom remodeling
In an older Philadelphia home or rowhome, a bathroom may sit within a compact footprint and beside closely connected rooms. The existing fixture and plumbing locations, shower configuration, vanity placement, storage, light, and circulation all need to work within that established layout.
A layout change can also reach into an adjoining room, existing wall, framing, floor, or utility run. Considering those conditions early keeps the bathroom plan grounded in the home that is already there, rather than treating the room as an isolated box.

NK handles bathroom remodeling while also maintaining structural-construction capability. When a bathroom plan involves a layout change, an adjacent wall, framing, a floor condition, or a new opening, those related considerations can stay connected to the remodeling scope.
The bathroom remains the focus, while the related wall, framing, floor, or opening question can be considered in the same project conversation when it applies.
